Meet the Pastor

Pastor Adrian Ortiz was educated at Moody Bible Institute in Biblical Studies, and has 9+ years leadership experience including preaching and teaching in the local church, organizing ministry teams, recruiting volunteers, leading adult Bible Studies, mentoring teens, leading small groups, facilitating mission trips, and guest speaking at Bible Camps.

To me, being a pastor involves being a servant to those you are ministering to, fanning into flame the gifts of others, sharing the gospel, and teaching Biblical truth with accuracy and clarity.  It is my joy to study and teach God's Word.

I have been redeemed from a life that involved just about every type of sin.  I mention my sinful past because I believe that in some ways God allowed it to happen in order to help me to reach a variety of people struggling with a wide range of sins.  Not that it is a prerequisite for pastoring, but it has helped me, at times, to reach people who are coming out of some really dark places.  I have a conviction, a desire, and am just living out what I believe is a call on my life to be an under-shepherd of a portion of God's people until we are all in the Kingdom of God that is to come.

Ultimately, I just want to be part of God building His house!  My desire is to see non-believers come to know the Lord, and to help those who are already born-again to grow in their relationships with Jesus.  In Ephesians 2:10 we are told that "we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them".  Later in Ephesians we are told that we are "the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, and Jesus who is the cornerstone" (Ephesians 4:20).  God is creating something awesome, and I want to be involved in it.  One day I want to hear that God is well pleased with me; even if I made mistakes and everything good that I did was in His strength and by His grace alone.
